BUILD THE FUTURE.
KEEP THE MOMENTUM.
Meet Stuart
Stuart Hene has proudly represented District 1 on the Tyler City Council since 2021. A lifelong Tyler resident, Stuart is deeply committed to serving the city he’s always called home.
Stuart attended Rice Elementary, Hubbard Middle School, and Robert E. Lee High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Baylor University. He began his career at the Texas State Capitol and later worked on several local political campaigns. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law, where he also received a Certificate in Business Law and Financial Services with a Commercial Law Concentration.
Today, Stuart is the Co-Founder and Partner at Tarry & Hene, PLLC, and serves as President of Prestige Energy Consultants, an oil and gas consulting firm he operates alongside his father, Paul Hene.
Stuart shows up for Tyler. He has served as a board member for St. Paul Children’s Services, as a Commissioner on Tyler’s Civil Service Commission, and as a member of the City of Tyler Parks & Recreation Committee. He is currently a board member for the Alzheimer’s Alliance of Smith County and sits on the Texas Bar Foundation’s District 2 Nominating Committee.
Stuart and his wife, Sarah, have two sons and are active members of Marvin Methodist Church. Outside of work and public service, Stuart enjoys traveling with his family, playing golf, and cooking.

Stuart’s Vision for the Future
Invest in smart, forward-thinking infrastructure that meets today's needs and lays the groundwork for tomorrow.
Ensure transparency and open communication so residents know what’s happening — and why.
Keep Tyler safe by continuing to support our Police Officers & Firefighters - dedicated men & women who put their lives on the line for us every day.
Embrace ideas that attract new businesses, create good jobs, and keep talent here.
Expand quality of life opportunities that serve every generation.
Experience, Energy, & Vision.
While on council, Stuart has supported growth across the City, not just in his district. He recognizes that a strong community depends on success in all areas.
Stuart supports City of Tyler employees, including our dedicated Police Officers and Firefighters.
His first week on the job, Stuart worked with City leaders to launch an online tool to help residents easily find their council member, improving transparency and civic access.
